One of the most ambitious projects implemented with the participation of Farmarea Industries is a modern walnut processing complex located in Iormuganlo village, Kakheti, Georgia. Once fully completed, the facility will be capable of processing up to 24 tons of walnuts per hour, including reception, washing, drying, grading, storage and packaging. Construction began in September 2024, while equipment installation was carried out with the participation of specialists from the Spanish manufacturer OBREO. The first phase, including the reception and washing line, drying complex, grading line and packaging area, was completed in approximately one month.
Iormuganlo Village, Kakheti Region, Georgia.
Construction of the facility started in September 2024. The project is being implemented in stages and continues to expand.
The first phase of the project included the installation of the following equipment:
The drying system operates using hot air generated by LPG burners. At the current stage, the dryers can accommodate approximately 100 m³ of washed walnuts. In 2025, a second row of dryers was installed. The final phase includes the installation of a third dryer row and a second walnut reception and washing line.
The facility currently operates at approximately 8 tons of walnuts per hour through the washing line. Upon completion of all project stages, the total processing capacity will reach up to 24 tons per hour. Walnuts are harvested mechanically using several FLORY walnut harvesting systems.
The project was implemented for Walnuts.ge, a company managing 150 hectares of Chandler walnut orchards and operating one of the most modern walnut processing facilities in Georgia.
Even at the current stage, the facility represents one of the largest walnut processing projects in the region. Upon completion, it will provide a fully integrated processing cycle with high throughput, advanced drying capacity, modern infrastructure, and the ability to produce premium-quality walnuts for both domestic and export markets.
